The Root Nine Foundation and Institute

Our Mission

Root Nine Foundation and Institute, the official philanthropic arm of The Official Royal House of Sori, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization created to uplift, restore, and empower individuals and communities across the globe. Founded by Her Royal Highness Princess Karen W.S. Brengettsy-Chatman. Root Nine was named in memory of the nine children of Prince Abdulrahman bin Sori and Isabella, left enslaved after their parents emancipation in 1829. However, its mission extends far beyond a single family it represents the unearthed legacies of all people whose histories, voices, and potential have been buried or denied.
