Natchez, Mississippi — The Official Royal House of Sori (TORHOS) and the Root Nine Foundation and Institute (R9) extend their heartfelt congratulations to Michael Morris of the Mississippi Department of Archives and History, Dr. Roscoe Barnes of Visit Natchez, Dr. Artemus Gaye of the Prince and Isabella Foundation, and the Natchez Historical Society for their outstanding contributions to the installation of a historical marker honoring Prince Abdul Rahman Ibrahima ibn Sori.
This marker is a powerful tribute to a noble African prince whose legacy continues to inspire generations. It serves as a symbolic acknowledgment of all his descendants—past and present—and reflects the State of Mississippi’s commitment to humanity, historical truth, and cultural restoration.
The commemorative event will take place on Friday, October 24, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at the Jefferson College street entrance on Highway 61Â in Natchez, Mississippi.
Representing TORHOS and R9 at the event will be Her Royal Highness Princess Karen W.S. Brengettsy-Chatman, President of TORHOS, and Dr. Daniel Foster, Operations Director of R9. Both are direct descendants of Prince Abdul Rahman.
